Studymate
Kids Tech Range Brand & Packaging Design
The overview:
Studymate set out to launch a new kids technology range designed for the Back-to-School period, with the potential to evolve into a year-round product line. The challenge was to create a packaging system that captured the energy and imagination of kids while maintaining strong retail presence on shelf.
The project involved designing a cohesive packaging language across a range of products including headphones, earbuds, charging cables, keyboards, stylus pens and accessories.
The challenge:
The packaging needed to appeal to children aged 3+, while also performing strongly in a retail environment.
The design had to be:
• Playful and visually exciting
• Bright and bold to stand out on shelf
• Clear in communicating product features
• Flexible enough to work across multiple tech products
Balancing kid appeal with retail clarity was key to ensuring the range felt fun while remaining easy for parents to understand and purchase.
The approach:
A bold, modular packaging system was developed using colour blocking, playful typography and character illustrations to bring personality to the range.
Product imagery was used as the hero element, ensuring the technology remained clearly visible while expressive graphics added a sense of fun and creativity.
The system included:
• Vibrant colour palettes tied to product variants
• Friendly illustrated characters and icons
• Large, playful typography and feature callouts
• A flexible layout framework that works across multiple packaging formats
This approach allowed the range to feel unified while still giving each product its own personality.
Outcome:
The result was a bright, energetic packaging system designed to capture attention in-store and connect with younger audiences.
The visual framework ensures the range feels cohesive across categories while allowing the product line to expand easily in the future.
The packaging balances playfulness, clarity and shelf impact, helping position the range as an accessible and engaging entry point into kids technology.
